Standing in for the excellent Catie Friend, my one commentary race of the year was in Shahdag, Azerbaijan, Round 2 of the World Cup with the expertise coming from Spain’s Mireia Miró.

A long time ago now but my first ever live TV 2-way came at the London2012 Paralympics for what became Channel 4/Sunset + Vine’s BAFTA Award-winning coverage. While we waited for the wind to pick-up and for competition to start there wasn’t much more we could do than enjoy the sun in the boat park. There was a trip out onto the water on a RIB, where we were able to record some great pictures of the competitors trying to get some speed up in dying wind conditions.

This feels like a lifetime ago.
